Why Kodály?

"Only the best is good enough for [students]." - Zoltán Kodály

Hungarian composer, musician, and educator Zoltán Kodály believed joyful and meaningful music-making occurs when children, youth and adults are immersed in songs from their own cultures and taught through sound developmental principles.

When guided by highly skilled teachers, students become adept at singing, hearing, reading, writing, creating and interpreting music - empowering them to be lifelong participants and contributors in music

About the BYU InterMuse Academy

The BYU InterMuse Academy engages teachers in:

  • The pursuit of personal musicianship
  • The refinement of pedagogical skills
  • The practice of curriculum development

These studies strengthen teaching and inspire students to become independent music makers and thinkers.
